The fee
The government’s visa procedure sets the consular fee or state fee for reviewing visa applications. For a C5 short-term electronic visa applied for through the e-VISA PORTAL, it is USD 300. Other short-term electronic visas through the portal cost USD 20 (Ordinance No 280, art. 27¹, added by Ordinance No 184 of 7 May 2026).
How long the decision takes
The ordinance says a C5 e-visa “is issued on the 5th working day” after the visa application is submitted. If extra circumstances need to be examined, the decision on the C5 visa is made within 10 working days. The ordinance also says the Ministry’s Consular and Diaspora Department issues C5 visas in agreement with the State Security Service.
Apply from outside Georgia
The Law on the Legal Status of Aliens says the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues electronic visas to foreigners “staying abroad” who apply through its special webpage (art. 6(1²)). The standard refusal form in the ordinance lists, for short-term e-visas applied for through the e-VISA PORTAL, the ground that the applicant was in Georgia on the day of the decision.
