How do I close an individual entrepreneur registration in Georgia?
Checked on
An individual entrepreneur in Georgia closes by applying to the National Agency of Public Registry to revoke the registration. The agency lists the fee as GEL 26 for 1 working day, or GEL 75 same-day. Under the Tax Code, you then file a return of gross income and deductions within 30 business days of ending economic activity in Georgia.

Closing at the registry
The Law of Georgia on Entrepreneurs lets an individual entrepreneur’s registration be revoked on the person’s own application (art. 91(1)(a)). The other grounds are death, a court declaring the person deceased or missing, or recognition as a beneficiary of support (art. 91(1)(b)); the agency’s FAQ lists the same grounds.
The National Agency of Public Registry’s fees page puts termination under the same line as registration of an individual entrepreneur: GEL 26 with a 1-working-day term, or GEL 75 on the day you file. The page doesn’t state a year; the amounts are as published when checked on 25 October 2026.
What happens to your obligations
An individual entrepreneur is not a separate legal person; you are personally liable with all your assets for business debts unless a creditor agreed otherwise (art. 2(5)). After revocation, you as the natural person are the successor in title (art. 91(3)). A general commercial power of attorney, if you gave one, ends (art. 91(2)).
Tax steps
The Tax Code says an entrepreneur natural person who ends economic activity in Georgia files a return of gross income and deductions within 30 business days. After that, you don’t have to file tax returns until you resume economic activity (art. 153(2)).
If you had small business status: the Code grants it to an entrepreneur natural person (art. 88(1)) and revokes it when that requirement is no longer met, from the date the ground arose (art. 89(2)(e), (5)).
