Do you have to tell AIMA when you change address in Portugal?
Checked on
Yes. Portugal's immigration law says foreign residents must tell AIMA about a change of address or of marital status within 60 days of the date it happens. Separately, the residence card itself must be renewed whenever the identification details recorded on it change, even before the permit expires.

The 60-day rule
Article 86, titled “Register of residents”, says residents must communicate to AIMA, within 60 days of the date it happens, any change of marital status or address.
When you also need a new card
This is a separate rule. For both temporary and permanent residence permits, the law says the residence card must be renewed whenever the identification details recorded on it change. This applies even if the permit has not expired.
