Can family members join you on Spain's entrepreneur visa?
Checked on
Yes. Your spouse or partner, minor children, adult children who depend on you financially and have no family of their own, and dependent parents can apply with you or later. They must meet the same general requirements. If they apply together with you, their permits and visas are decided at the same time.

Who counts as family
Ley 14/2013 lets these relatives join or accompany an entrepreneur: the spouse or a person in an analogous relationship, minor children, adult children who depend on the holder financially and have not formed their own family unit, and dependent ascendants (art. 62.4). The law also requires family members to meet the same general requirements as the holder (art. 62.4, referring to art. 62.3).
Applying together or later
Family members can apply jointly and simultaneously with you, or afterwards. When they apply at the same time, the law requires their permits, and where relevant their visas, to be decided at the same time as yours (art. 62.4).
What one consulate asks for
The Spanish consular section in Washington says each family member needs a residence permit for family members issued by the UGE-CE before applying for the visa. It asks for proof of the family relationship, and for adult children and parents proof of financial dependence. For an unregistered couple, it asks for documents proving at least one year of relationship, or the children’s birth certificates and proof of living together if the couple has children. Foreign official documents must be apostilled or legalised and come with an official Spanish translation.
